I enjoyed Carol Marcus a lot more once I started imagining her going into EVERY conversation with kirk and bones like “i have to talk with you to stop my dad from fucking things up but if you look at my tits one more time while im trying to tell you how to save your worthless patriarchal lives im going to switch out your hairspray with tear gas” “oh bones did that torpedo close on your arm just after you were sexually patronizing me oh NO that must be so DIFFICULT for you what a strange coincidence” i just ignore the scene at the end where shes all like ~im part of ur family kirk~ ~were obvious love interests kirk~ hell no misandric fed-up-with-your-shit ice queen carol marcus to the END of my life

also im just really unhappy that kirk did that TBH I JUST IGNORE A TON OF SHIT THAT HAPPENED IN INTO DARKNESS. KIRK WOULDNT DO THAT. HE TREATS CONSENT WITH RESPECT GODDAMNIT. HE MAY BE INAPPROPRIATELY FORWARD AT TIMES BUT IF SOMEBODY TELLS HIM TO BACK OFF HE BACKS THE FUCK OFF AND APOLOGIZES. anyone who tries to wrest this headcanon from me will be getting a roundhouse kick to the face im not headcanoning anything for a character i love that sets him up as a protorapist without a lot of extra context and a redemption arc
